This controller was designed for a client with cerebral palsy who wanted a way to play racing games. Based on and interview with him, we determined that he had good use of his feet. Therefore, along with a small team, we designed and built this video game controller for him to use with his feet. The joystick head was 3D printed and the frame for the body was laser cut.
The project goal was to create mobiles from an aspect of nature in an abstract manner. I chose to explore spiders and their webs. The main body of this piece is made of copper rods and the joinery is made out of wire. All the wire and rods were bent to shape using pliers. The legs of the spiders were soldered on.
